Our class is full of unique and energetic individuals! We will continue community building strategies and promoting a respectful, responsible learning environment. In the event of students engaging in distracting behaviors; oral redirection will be given, followed by written reflections, then parent contact and consequences.
Birthdays are fun and everybody has one! If you would like to provide treats for your child’s special day, please talk to me the week before so we can set aside a small amount of time for celebrations. The best time is in the last 20 minutes of the day.
All 4th Grade students will have approximately 40 minutes of homework each night, per LAUSD homework policy. If your student is having difficulty completing the nightly homework in the allotted time frame, please notify your teacher of the situation. If you would like extended practice, please refer to the RESOURCES page.
Parent Involvement Policy
Teachers will seek out parent volunteers for various learning experiences and field trips this year.
Reading Log Policy
Each student is required to read for 20 MINUTES each night. This is in addition to the 40 minutes of daily homework. It is important to challenge reading skills with a variety of grade level texts. Please refer to ELA Resources Page for more options.
Scholar Responsibility Policy
Warner Avenue is dedicated to ensuring your child's educational success. We encourage you to hold your child accountable for their school performance and will stand with you in providing a supportive and empowering learning environment. In all student assignments and projects, we seek authenticity, rather than perfection.
